The Winter Park Express Amtrack train to Winter Park Resort will begin its season with expanded services on Jan. 10.

New this season, the Winter Park Express will make trips Fridays on top of the Saturday and Sunday services already available. Last year, the train only ran on the first two Fridays of each month during the season, as well as every Saturday and Sunday.

The train will leave at 7 a.m. from Union Station in Denver and arrive in Winter Park at 9 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Departures back to Denver leave at 4:30 p.m. and arrive at 6:40 p.m.

One-way tickets start at $29 per person and are available through Amtrak. Seat do sell out, so passengers are encouraged to book early.

As of Friday, Winter Park has a season snow total of 115 inches. The resort has 17 of 23 lifts open and 134 of its 166 trails.
