For the second year in a row, Winter Park Resort has claimed the title of the best ski resort in North America in the USA Today’s reader’s choice competition 10Best.

Winter Park Resort beat out twenty other North American ski resorts, including two other Colorado resorts – Telluride and Copper Mountain – to be named the best this year.

That the resort maintained the top spot on the list for two years consecutively is made even more impressive considering it didn’t even grace the list two years ago.

However, Winter Park’s diverse terrain is getting the resort recognized by skiers and riders all over the country. USA Today’s list sites the resort’s seven territories and over 3,000 acres as one of its main draws.

The resort also continues to work on making it easier and faster to access all of its terrain with continuous updates, including this year’s big project to replace the Sunnyside Lift in the Mary Jane territory with a high-speed six-seater.

Alterra Mountain Company, Winter Park Resort’s parent company, also had its Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows resort in Olympic Village, California and Crystal Mountain Resort in Enumclaw, Washington rank second and seventh respectively.

Ikon Pass holders have the chance to visit a few other resorts also on the list, including the No. 4 resort, Revelstoke Mountain in British Columbia, Canada; No. 5 Copper Mountain; and No. 8 Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Montana.

So far this season, Winter Park Resort has received around 70 inches of snow and has 17 lifts and 41 trails open.
