The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued a winter storm watch for areas of north central Colorado, including Grand County, as heavy snow is expected to blanket the area.
Two to 6 inches of snow is possible in the northern mountains, above 9,500 feet through Sunday evening, with the heaviest amounts expected to fall in the mountains north of I-70.
A second storm will bring a much cooler airmass and significant precipitation Monday through Tuesday night, according to the weather service.
There could be from 8 to 20 inches of snowfall in the mountains and foothills, including across Grand County.
