After being delayed a few weeks, the project to replace the bridge on County Road 8 is slated to begin this week.
The project was delayed a few times due to the height of the Fraser River.
Fraser Town Manager Jeff Durbin said they closed County Road 8 on Tuesday and will begin construction today.
The bridge, which has received a poor inspection rating from the state for at least the last 10 years, will be replaced as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s off-highway bridge replacement program.
The $1.2 million project is expected to take around three months, during which time County Road 8 will be closed to through traffic from US Highway 40 to Waipiti Drive.
The road closure will impact Fraser’s Meadow Ridge and Winter Park Ranch neighborhoods, as well as the Lift line that runs through them.
Fraser is putting up detour information in the surrounding area to inform drivers.
