Flying acrobats, trained dogs and traditional clowns will be in Fraser this holiday weekend for the Zoppe Circus.
The 177-year-old institution is celebrating its origins this year with a themed show titled ‘La Nonna,’ in honor of the family circus’ matriarch. The show celebrates women with a predominately female company of artists.
With its theme and focus on women and female performers, the Zoppe Circus is at the forefront of continuing to innovate and keep the circus alive. The show will premiere three all-female troupes in traditionally male-dominated disciplines, including a cossack act and trapeze troupe.
The schedule starts at 4 p.m. Friday and continues Saturday at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday has two shows at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and the finale is Monday at 1 p.m. All shows are at the Big Top in Grand Park in Fraser.
