Alexandra Huston Fuller

Alexandra Huston Fuller, at age 94, passed away on January 21st, 2019, at 11:00 p.m., at her family’s Willow Brook Farms, in her own bed, during the wolf blood moon. She was born in 1924, in New York City, the daughter of Isabelle D.Huston and Arthur T. Huston, and the Granddaughter of Tillinghast L’Hommedieu Huston, co-owner of the New York Yankees. She grew up in Sea Island, Georgia, where she graduated from Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia, then taught Kindergarten and 1st Grade on Sea Island. She attended Bucknell University.

Alexandra was an avid tennis player and swimmer. In her youth she performed synchronized swimming and volunteered at the Home Front Coast Guard Station on St. Simons Island, keeping watch for German subs and destroyers off shore during WWII. She also modeled for Vogue Magazine.

Alexandra married C. Thomas Fuller (now deceased) of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania on June 12, 1946 and moved to Willow Brook Farms, where she lived until her death.

Tom and Alex Fuller had three children, Holly, Peter, and Vicki.

The Fuller family came west to ski Colorado powder. They built the 2nd house, in Snowmass village, and became part of the Aspen-Snowmass Community, bonding with daughter, Holly and grandchildren, Travis and Afton at Moon Run Ranch.

She was gracious, elegant and a classic “Lady” of her era, always the voice of reason, and taught her children to be kind, inclusive and set an example by her life of dignified integrity.
