Aspen Chapel Gallery collaborates with English in Action for ‘Art in Action’

The Aspen Chapel Gallery will open a new exhibition “Art in Action” on Wednesday.

The show is a collaborative effort with English in Action. Their mission is to strengthen the quality of life for everyone in our community by helping adults learn to read, write and speak English and by building cross-cultural relationships. A percentage of the sales will be donated to English in Action. “Art in Action” is dedicated to the memory of Christopher M. Faison, a longtime valley resident, teacher and English in Action volunteer.

The gallery will host a reception Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Participating artists include: Tania Dibbs, Bill Gruenberg, Kathy Honea, Christie Interlante, Sam Louras, Jim Moser, Kat Moser, Susan Obermeyer, Marina Romanov and Marty Schlein. Kathy Honea curated the show.

“The idea of art in action means something different to each artist and the idea of ‘action’ is intriguing,” Honea said.

“I am curious to see what the artists create. Choosing English in Action to partner with this show has been a joy. The work they do is an integral part of the valley.”
