Aspen election’s annual Squirm Night set for Thursday at City Hall

The municipal election season is in full swing, and in Aspen that means one thing: Squirm Night returns.

The Aspen Times, Aspen Daily News, Aspen Public Radio and GrassRoots TV are collaborating on the annual event where representatives of the media outlets ask candidates the tough questions we haven’t hit them with yet. This year’s event is Thursday at the city council chambers at City Hall.

The four candidates for running for the two open city council seats — Linda Manning, Skippy Mesirow, Bert Myrin and Rachel Richards — will start the evening at 5:30 p.m. with an hour-long Q&A.

Then, the four candidates running for mayor — Adam Frisch, Cale Mitchell, Ann Mullins and Torre — will follow shortly after.

Squirm Night organizers are taking suggestions for questions of the candidates and ballot issue representatives. Send them to David Krause (dkrause@aspentimes.com) or Curtis Wackerle (curtis@aspendailynews.com).

Both events will be carried live on GrassRoots and on Facebook Live via the other media outlets.
