Aspen Highlands opening with 717 acres, G-zones in Highland Bowl

Aspen Highlands will open Saturday with 717 acres, including the G-zones, the North Woods and Child’s Play in Highland Bowl and the majority of terrain on the front side, Aspen Skiing Co. announced on Wednesday.

Buttermilk will open with almost 300 acres. The Summit Express chair will spin and the West Buttermilk chair will run from the mid-station. When conditions allow, the lower portion of West Buttermilk and Tiehack will open.

At Aspen Highlands, all lifts except Thunderbowl will open on Saturday. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass already opened. Skico said it has nearly 2,500 acres of open terrain across the four mountains.
