Aspen Mountain will open for more bonus skiing and riding June 8-9

Aspen Mountain will once again be open for skiing and riding this weekend.

Aspen Skiing Co. announced Monday that the Ajax Express will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for bonus laps on the mountaintop. Skico’s anticipates opening 130 acres of terrain served by the chairlift. Everyone will have to download on the Silver Queen Gondola.

Aspen Mountain has been open the last two weekends for bonus skiing.

The mountain is also open for sightseeing.

For those skiing and riding, lift tickets are $54 a day. Sightseers pay $27 for a 1-ride ticket, or $32 for a weekend ticket providing unlimited rides Saturday and Sunday. Children under three are free. Aspen Snowmass Premier passes as well as six and under passes provide free access for both skiing/riding and sightseeing. School and AVSC passholders are also eligible for free access for both skiing/riding and sightseeing but must call or a visit a ticket office to validate their pass prior to accessing the gondola. Discounted pricing for Flex, Double Flex, Classic, Club Escape, Ikon and Mountain Collective passholders is $27 for skiing/riding, $13 for a one-ride sightseeing ticket and $16 for a weekend sightseeing ticket.
