The Aspen School District has canceled all classes and activities Thursday because of the snowstorm the rolled through overnight.
This is the third day this school year classes are closed because of the weather. The cancellation includes Aspen Community School and Aspen Country Day.
The Aspen-area remains in a winterstorm warning until 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Aspen ski resorts reported 13 inches of snow in the past 24 hours at Aspen Mountain and 22 inches at Highlands.
The district previously canceled classes this year on Jan. 18 and Feb. 6 because of snow. According to the district policy: “When schools are closed all scheduled activities in the school building are canceled and sports events and practices are postponed.”
