For some time now, I’ve contended that climate change may not be the only issue in the world, but it’s certainly the most important. The future of life on this planet? What’s bigger than that?
A friend of mine at the hot springs pool disagreed. She said Citizens United, the 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision that allowed corporations to make political contributions, is the source of all our ills.
She may be right. If it wasn’t for the fossil-fuel industry lining the pockets of the politicians, we might be able to do something about climate change.
