God is with us

It is rainbow flag time again! I write a letter each year to say how beautiful it is to see the rainbow which was created by a loving creator God to say he would never flood the earth again. (Genesis 9 verse 11).

How wonderful! This year, however, I had the realization that I never mention why he flooded the earth in the first place. Mankind had let God down by doing many things against what he had asked of them, to the point that only Noah and his family were still obeying God. Thus Noah was asked by God to build the arc, and he obeyed.

He was to take his family and animals two by two to sustain life as the water subsided. Though I always talk of his mercy and love, this year I wanted to speak of how just he is. Justice is not something we are very familiar with. Many times he says, “If you love me, you will obey me.” In order to love him, we must know him, and to know him, we must hear his word. We can then decide if we want to love him, obey him, and therefore truly live in his blessings.

My challenge to each of us is to do just that. We live in a world right now that is quite a mess. He is calling us back to himself. He created us, and he absolutely loves each of us because he made us for himself for eternity! Question is, “Will we choose him? Will we say yes to the blessings he offers?” He is ours for the acceptance and choice to obey him.

He is love, and perfect love casts out fear. He has blessings and curses as we choose to do what he knows is best for each of us.

We submit this with love and prayer. He has indeed blessed us.
