The March 14, 1968 edition of the Snowmass Villager, we met Heiko Kuhn. “Recreation Director for Snowmass-at-Aspen Heiko Kuhn probably meets more people than any other person at the new resort. For, it is to him tourists and townspeople come when they wish to have special activities planned for them such as slalom and obstacle races, guided ski tours and snowmobile tours, paddle tennis games, broomball, snow shoeing and cross-country touring…Kuhn’s background in sports has been intense and diversified, ranging from lifeguard at Jones Beach in New York to goalie for the New York State champion soccer team. Also, he says, ‘Golf has been part of my life.’ He has been playing since he was eight year’s old and has participated in many amateur golf tournaments…six years ago when Heiko was offered a job as Public Relations director at Aspen Highlands he and his wife (Louise) ‘decided to give it a try because we both love the mountains.’ Last summer he was assistant golf pro at the Aspen Country club and in September went to work for Snowmass as Recreation Director. This summer he will be golf and tennis pro at the Brush Creek Country Club…”
