Hot Buttered Rum to play free Valentine’s Day show in Snowmass

Hot Buttered Rum will play a free Valentine’s Day concert inside the Collective in Base Village on Thursday from 7:30 to 10 p.m., East West announced Feb. 12. The show will take place on the main level of the community-use building. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Known for its high-energy performances, the California-born jamgrass band intermixes string music, folk, bluegrass, rock and country.

Widely considered a souped-up left-coast string band, Hot Buttered Rum blends bluegrass, folk, jazz and soul sounds.

Base Village curator Sara Halferty said those involved in revitalizing Base Village, primarily East West, the town of Snowmass and Aspen Skiing Co., are “seeing our vision of the Collective coming to fruition as a wonderful gathering place” for the community.

“Our goal is to continue adding vitality to Base Village,” Halferty wrote via email.

The Collective event calendar spans through the end of March. Halferty noted she also is currently working on summer programming.
