Interstate 70 near Vail was closed going westbound for a while Monday when a rockfall hit a vehicle, but no one was hurt.
The interstate was closed at mile marker 171, which is west of Vail near the Minturn exit.
A post by the Colorado State Patrol show a Nissan Xterra with a rock punctured through the vehicle’s hood.
“No injuries, driver and passengers very lucky in one of the cars hit by the rocks,” CSP said in a tweet.
The road was closed around 6:30 p.m., according to Eagle County, and reopened about 30 minutes later.
