Is money all that matters in Aspen?

It is incredibly sad, disgusting and, as Mark Patterson so perfectly put it, “bewildering” that Andy and Nikos Hecht, locals themselves, have chosen to displace what has easily been the business staple of Aspen by choosing Loro Piana to replace Paradise Bakery.

I am thankful for Mark and Danny’s commitment to finding another location and dearly hope that any developers left in this town with half a mind for anything other than money will allow them an opportunity to create a new, meaningful and lasting space in the town that those of us who have grown up here so deeply love.

As John F. Kennedy said, “You cannot negotiate with people who say ‘what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is negotiable.’”
