Legends & Legacies: Aspen Chapel takes shape

One b/w photograph of the construction of the Prince of Peace Chapel, in the Aspen Times on October 17, 1968 (pg. 1C). A caption with the photo reads “Taking shape at the Meadowood subdivision west of Aspen is the Chapel of the Prince of Peace. Looking down from a hill at the junction of the Castle and Maroon Creek roads, the wayside chapel is due for completion in early spring. It is a project of the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Conference, which administers Aspen Valley Hospital, and will be the site of national and international seminars on the theological concerns of modern man. Heneghan and Gale of Aspen is the architect and the contractor is Meadowood, Inc.”

Fiftieth-anniversary celebrations are running throughout summer 2019 at the church.
