“Taking shape at the Meadowood subdivision west of Aspen is the Chapel of the Prince of Peace, noted The Aspen Times on Oct. 17, 1968. “Looking down from a hill at the junction of the Castle and Maroon Creek roads, the wayside chapel is due for completion in early spring. It is a project of the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Conference, which administers Aspen Valley Hospital, and will be the site of national and international seminars on the theological concerns of modern man. Heneghan and Gale of Aspen is the architect and the contractor is Meadowood, Inc.” This image shows the Chapel under construction, 1968. Fiftieth-anniversary celebrations are running throughout summer 2019 at the church.
