Regarding Sen. Cory Gardners’s statement “I don’t support gun control” (Aug. 6, The Aspen Times), Canada has twice the number of registered guns than the United States. Most of these guns are hunting rifles and shotguns. Assault weapons are banned and handguns are highly regulated.
In a year’s time, all of Canada has half the number of gun-related deaths as the city of Chicago. Is this because of gun control, or is it just that Canadians are more polite?
