Forbes recognizes two Aspen financial advisors
Forbes has ranked Aspen’s Wally Obermeyer and Ali Phillips as second- and seventh-top advisers in Colorado, respectively, in its annual state-by-state ranking of the top wealth advisers in America for 2019.
Forbes placed Phillips No. 9 in its 2018 rankings.
The two advisers are based at Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel LLLP in Aspen, the only Colorado firm that had two individuals ranked in the top 10 this year.
New yoga studio at ABC
Zaya Yoga Aspen is the newest yoga studio to open in the area.
Run by Emily Longfellow and partner Becky Capps, the venue is located at 408 Aspen Business Center in the former King Yoga space.
“We are really excited to bring Zaya Yoga to the Aspen community,” Longfellow said in a statement. “Our mission is to help Aspen yogis develop a healthy, well-rounded personal yoga practice, and so far we are off to a great start.”
Zaya Yoga Aspen also is a sister studio The Vimana House in downtown Basalt, and has a 21-class menu. Zaya Yoga Aspen is offering the first class free.
Longfellow opened the first yoga schools in Aspen, Basalt and Glenwood Springs in 1997. She recently published the new book “Vimana Yoga: an In-Depth Guide for Students and Teachers.” Capps has been trained in several yoga styles and has been teaching for more than two decades.
Real estate firm announces top performers
Coldwell Banker Mason Morse Real Estate recently announced recipients of its 2018 Core Value Award and top producers for the past year.
Earning the awards for top producer were Carrie Wells (transactions and dollar volume, Aspen), Sarah Burggraf (transactions, Snowmass Village); Carrie Bryant (dollar volume, Snowmass Village), The Leslie Newbury & Roshni Slali Team (transactions and dollar volume, Basalt), Mike Eaton (transactions, Basalt), Patty Brendlinger (transactions and dollar volume, Carbondale), and Joy White (transactions and dollar volume, Glenwood Springs).
Earning the award for top listing broker were Wells, Burggraf, The Leslie Newbury & Roshni Slali Team, Nancy Emerson (Carbondale), and Erin Bassett (Glenwood Springs).
Top rental broker awards went to Lisa Turchiarelli of Aspen and Bobbi Hodge of Glenwood Springs.
Named the firm’s peer-nominated Core Values Awards were Ingrid Wussow of Glenwood Springs (integrity), Patty Brendlinger of Carbondale (success), Alyson Romanus of Aspen (service), Shael Johnson of Aspen (collaboration), and Emerson (stability). Donovan O’Toole earned rookie of the year.
