Mountain Mayhem: An evening in Paris

“Paris is always a good idea,” Audrey Hepburn famously said (or, some argue, didn’t really say). Regardless of its truth or myth status, the sentiment is certainly shared by many, including 170 guests who attended the “Evening in Paris”-themed gala for Thunder River Theatre Company (TRTC). The festive evening took place at The Orchard in Carbondale on Sunday, May 4, with cocktails, bistro dinner fare, a silent auction and live paddle raise, plus special performances from TRTC artists.

Integrated Mountain Group was honored with the 2019 Community Partner Award. During the evening, TRTC announced its upcoming main-stage season productions, which will begin in September and run through June 2020. Look for details for these shows, which include “A Walk in the Woods,” “The Doyle and Debbie Show,” “A View from the Bridge” and “Into the Breeches.”

As described by TRTC, their focus is on engaging artists and audiences through inspired theatre and innovative artistry. Programs include an award-winning, year-round theatre season, student and community outreach, Latino Theatre Initiative, Theatre for Young People, comedy improv, cabaret, youth and adult theatre classes, and development of new work.
