Mountain Mayhem: On the scene around Aspen

It’s been a whirlwind of social occasions from the holidays straight into the new year. Among them have been several après events at Aether Apparel, including one with Beboe on Dec. 27 celebrating the brand’s arrival in Colorado, as well as an evening benefiting the Aspen Youth Center held at Aether’s Aspen store Jan. 19.

On Jan, 4, Aspen Film celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” with a reception and screening at the Wheeler Opera House. Guests posed for pictures with a Hunter S. Thompson life-size cut-out, and mingled with members of the board and staff of Aspen Film. Thompson’s widow, Anita, and close friend, former Pitkin County Sheriff Bob Braudis, joined onstage for a Q&A after the film led by Aspen Film executive director Susan Wrubel.

On Jan. 18, Rossignol’s pop-up shop at 521 E. Hyman Ave. celebrated its launch with a cocktail reception and runway show at Hunter Loft next door, presented with partners including David Yurman, Atelier Ski, Aspen Peak and NellCote wines.
