Prep briefs April 24: Aspen girls lacrosse beats Eagle Valley

Aspen girls lacrosse beats Eagle Valley 22-2 to improve to 11-0

The Aspen High School girls lacrosse team made easy work of another opponent on Wednesday, rolling to a 22-2 win over Eagle Valley (1-8 overall) in Gypsum. Kate Citron led the team with six goals.

The win improves No. 8 Aspen to a perfect 11-0 on the season. The Skiers will celebrate senior day on Saturday when they host Arapahoe (4-6) for an 11 a.m. game on the AHS turf.

The AHS boys lacrosse team (6-4) plays today at Grand Junction (9-1).

The AHS girls soccer team will host Roaring Fork today at 6 p.m. on the AHS turf. A win for Aspen would wrap up an undefeated league season. Sophomore Kelley Francis needs one goal to tie the program’s single-season mark, which she set last season as a freshman.
