Time to boycott Hecht family’s Aspen properties

I just read that Paradise Bakery’s landlord, Andy Hecht, is not renewing its lease and instead is going to let Loro Piana, its neighboring high-end Italian clothing store, expand into its space. This is outrageous! Paradise has been one of the main landmarks of Aspen for over 20 years. It’s a wonderful gathering place. It’s incredible that Andy Hecht would throw out Paradise for the expansion of an upscale clothing store that Aspen needs like a hole in the head. It’s time the city does something to stop Aspen’s landlords from destroying our city and forcing local wonderful business to close in favor of high end establishments.

We should boycott Loro Piana and any other stores in buildings owned by the Hechts.
