Thank you for your continued support as we proceed with the Aspen School District’s Climate and Culture Study. We are committed to a thorough process that includes input from all of our staff members and from our community. We began this process because we heard from different individuals and groups, including both staff members and members of our community, concerns about our district culture. The board has chosen to work with Liz Wilson of Wilson Foxen out of Denver. She specializes in communication, leadership development, team performance and change and transition.
We are counting on the participation of our staff and community so that we can assess and work to improve our current climate and culture. Even though the scope of the Climate and Culture Study is the ASD employee experience and workplace culture we feel it is important to listen to all community stakeholders and involve as many as possible. The Aspen School District Board of Education and the Consulting Firm of Wilson Foxen will hold two community focus groups. Please plan to attend one of these sessions to give your feedback about our district.
These events will be held:
Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Aspen High School seminar room;
Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Pitkin County Library community room.
The goal of the community focus groups is to Improve transparency and understanding by communicating the scope, status and timelines of the Climate and Culture Study. It will also provide opportunities for individuals who are not part of the ASD workforce to offer input and perspective related to the current Climate and Culture Study.
The community focus group will be facilitated in a round-robin style and will ask already-identified questions developed to elicit targeted information about leadership, the future of the district, and suggestions for specific ways to support the effectiveness of the district. It will be a venue for voices, previously unheard, and will be moderated with set ground rules and expectations.
We welcome all community members who wish to give voice to their thoughts and suggestions to ensure that our district remains one of the best in the state. We all have a stake in ensuring that the employees of the Aspen School District have the most conducive environment to help our students realize their full potential, appreciate the relevance of their education, be excited to learn and be empowered for success.
