Why voting for Ann Mullins for mayor isn’t a good idea

I don’t want to be disrespectful toward a serving City Council member whose ideas I mostly like. In fact, I think Ann Mullins has done a good job. But here’s the problem: if she wins the post of mayor, everyone may become disenfranchised. Why? Because her current seat on the Aspen City Council may be filled by appointment!

Think about it friends: If Ann is elected mayor, you — and all of Aspen’s other voters — may have no say at all about who gets appointed to Ann’s vacant seat as a member of the City Council.

Bad deal, I’d say!

But luckily, there’s a much better, more certain solution: if Aspen votes to elect Torre mayor, then Aspen gets both Torre and Ann for sure.

Yes, Virginia — there is a Santa Claus!
