From the number of stages, bands, and everything in between, Kevin Lyman has shared the details with us.
Warped Tour are set to announce the line-up for their 2019 event tomorrow, and ahead of that announcement dropping we spoke to Warped founder Kevin Lyman to find out what we’re all in for.
Starting off with the big, important question- how many stages and bands will Warped 2019 have?
According to the man himself, both the Atlantic City and California dates are set to have five stages each, and roughly 50 bands playing per day.
These events aren’t quite the Warped Tour you’ve come to know over the past couple of decades, but they’re bringing back some of the more heritage aspects of the festival to these events.
There will be a focus on the spectacle and activities at the 25th anniversary events, with Kevin sharing “these are more traditional festival set-ups. One of the biggest things was trying to bring back a lot of the attractions, because a lot of you never got to see things like the skateboard ramps, the motorcycle jumping, the human cannonball or the wrestling. All of those attractions will be at the show, and we’re really looking forward to that.”
One of the things that Warped Tour has become known for over the years is that they don’t announce the set times until the day of the event. And that’s still going to be the case for the events this year, with Kevin sharing “We’re still not going to announce set times before the day. But we expect with the line-up that when we announce it, people will want to be there the whole day. People won’t want to miss the show.”
Also there will be a different line-up at each of the West and East coast events, and according to Kevin “They’re not 100% different, but there’s also a lot of crossover… they’re definitely not two duplicate shows.”
He also revealed that The Ghost Inside won’t be on the 2019 line-up, but that he “always holds open a spot for them on the [Warped] line-up”.
Basically, Warped 2019 is shaping up to be a very nice time.
The line-up is set to drop on Friday. Get all the details on that here.
