A total bummer.
Mark Hoppus has shared that there’s no bad blood between Blink-182 and Tom DeLonge, following Tom’s 2015 departure from the band.
Speaking to Pedestrian, Mark has shared “I think that Tom’s very happy doing his thing, and we are very happy doing our thing, and there’s no hard feelings and there’s no animosity or bad blood there, it’s just like I said; he’s doing his stuff, we’re doing ours.”
He continuted to share “I have not spoken to Tom since before ‘California’ came out. So not for a couple of years. But like I said before there’s no bad blood, it’s just we haven’t spoken. I mean he’s dedicated so much of his life to [UFOs] and so much time and energy researching things and listening to people speak, and talking about it himself, that it would seem like a total bummer if he didn’t get a chance to fly into outer space and see for himself.”
And Mark is right – it would be a total bummer.
These comments follow on from Tom DeLonge opening up earlier this week about his reasons for quitting Blink-182 to pursue other ventures.
Tom shared “The last show I played was in front of 100,000 people. They wonder why I’m not doing that now and I’ll say because this is the one moment in my life where I’ll be able to look back as an old man and say, ‘oh my god, I was a part of the team that changed the world.'”
