Forget about the expensive beach vacation! Denverites looking to make a splash for their summer vacation look no further than Glenwood Hot Springs. Attracting tourists since 1888, the football field-length thermal pools are one of the largest mineral hot springs pools in the world and one of the major attractions in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. From May through August, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool is bubbling with activity all summer long. Guests can lounge by one of two pools in your poolside cabana (full day $85).

Perhaps you’d prefer to dip your toes and then take the plunge? The largest pool’s heated waters are 90-93°F (32°-34°C) while its smaller pool, mostly used for therapy, is kept warmer at 104°F (40°C). Kids of all ages can’t resist the two water slides, with 300 feet of twists and turns, tumbling more than four stories!

Summer is made for a family adventure at Glenwood Hot Springs with extended hours and getaway packages – and yes, there is a Kiddie Pool. Slides are open every day 10:00 am to 6:00 PM, and choose passes from four to unlimited rides. Packages are $43.25 for adults and $36 for children, and include the Super Splash with Glenwood Hot Springs Pool admission, all-day water slide pass, and pizza slice and refillable soda from the Grill. Weekday rates are slightly less.

Glenwood Hot Springs is more than a warm dip in the pool – it’s a complete resort getaway. Stay nearby at the 107-room Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge. While the Spa of the Rockies invites guests for a healing experience in one of nine treatment rooms. Get out of the pool and challenge your family to a round at the Glenwood Hot Springs Miniature Golf Course. The 18-hole round is shady and near the water slides. Adults $6.25; children $4.25.

Make your summer splash at Glenwood Hot Springs, located along I-70 at Glenwood Springs, approximately 165 miles west of Denver and 90 miles east of Grand Junction. You can also explore Glenwood Springs, Colorado for an array of summer vacation activities including biking, hiking, golf and the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park & Historic Fairy Caves.
