The metal step-sibling of Vans Warped Tour is coming back.
Rockstar Mayhem Festival has announced its return for 2020, following a five year absence from the touring circuit.
The metal step-sibling of Vans Warped Tour was founded in 2008 by Warped’s Kevin Lyman, and his Taste Of Chaos partner John Reese. Mayhem Festival would tour North America in the summer with a heavier line-up than its counterpart. The likes of Slipknot, Motionless In White, Asking Alexandria, Underoath and more have all appeared on the Mayhem Fest line-ups over the years.
Mayhem Festival was cancelled after its 2015 run, due to disappointing ticket sales. The announcement was made on Facebook by John Reese:
But now, after five years of silence, Mayhem Fest have announced their return for next year with an Instagram post, with the caption “don’t call it a comeback. #mayhem2020”.
They’ve also updated their Instagram bio to read “hindsight is 2020.. and so is the return of mayhem.”, as well as updating their URL (which currently leads to a dead website).
Stay tuned for more updates.
