And they’ve de-throned Imagine Dragons to get there.
One chart week ago Panic! At The Disco had held on to the top spot on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart for an entire year – but in holding it for an additional week, Panic! have now set a new record.
Now Panic! At The Disco are the official record holders for the most consecutive weeks spent at number one on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart, having dethroned Imagine Dragons by a single week. Imagine Dragons set the initial chart record back in 2017 with their single ‘Thunder’, but Panic! At The Disco have held the number one spot across two separate singles over the past 53 weeks.
Panic! At The Disco actually de-throned themselves earlier this year when ‘Hey Look Ma, I Made It’ took out the top spot, pushing ‘High Hopes’ back to number two. However, ‘High Hopes’ has since taken out the top spot yet again, and Panic! At The Disco has been holding on to the top two spots ever since.
Overall, ‘High Hopes’ has now spent 75 weeks in the Hot Rock Songs Chart, with 41 of those being at number one. Additionally, ‘Hey Look Ma, I Made It’ has now spent 56 weeks in the Hot Rock Songs Chart.
And Panic! don’t really show any signs of giving up that top spot – they’ve been holding on to the top two spots for 12 weeks now.
Needless to say, we’re pretty sure Panic! At The Disco had high, high hopes this would happen.
Congratulations to Panic! At The Disco!
