The Ghost Inside Have Finished Their New Album

“The record is done, and literally as of last night we are listening to the mix” – Andrew Tkaczyk.

Back in August 2019, The Ghost Inside confirmed that they are in the studio, working on the follow-up to their 2014 album ‘Dear Youth’ – and now it’s been confirmed by drummer Andrew Tkaczyk that the album is finished. This will mark the first new music from The Ghost Inside since their fatal bus crash in 2015, which left all members in recovery and rehabilitation for years.

The Ghost Inside posted a photo on Twitter, in the studio, with the caption “Update: Album #5″. The tweet also tagged producer Will Putney (who has worked with the likes of Every Time I DieKnocked Loose and Thy Art Is Murder), and A Day To Remember frontman Jeremy McKinnon.

Speaking to Craig Reynolds on The Downbeat podcast, Andrew confirmed that The Ghost Inside have completed their upcoming album – and they’re listening to final mixes at the moment.

On the producer of the album, Will Putney, Andrew shared “I fucking love Will, so much. He’s the man. We hit it off right away. This one is the first record we’ve done with Will.”

When asked if the band have settled on a name for their upcoming album, he shared “I don’t think we’ve quite settled on a name yet – but the record is done, and literally as of last night we are listening to the mix, and all this stuff. So it’s super exciting.”

He continued, speaking on the process of writing and recording the album, “Back in January of last year I turned one of my bedrooms into a little studio, and the guys came out and we just started writing it. So when we got hold of Will to tell him we were interested in him producing the record, we also had Jeremy from A Day To Remember on board, which we’ve had on the last two records. So how it worked was, we first initially met up in Orlando at Jeremy’s studio and Andrew Wade’s studio to do these pre-pro demos. And that was in May of last year. So he came there, and we all flew to Florida, and we spent two or three weeks in Orlando. And then we took a little break because we had our comeback show to do in July, so we took a little break to prepare for that, and then went back to good old Belleville New Jersey to finish and track the record.”

And the rest is HISTORY.

As yet there’s no official release details for The Ghost Inside’s upcoming album, but keep an eye out for an upcoming announcement.
