The Hunna’s Ryan Potter On Working With Pete Wentz: “It Was A Real Trip”

“I was thinking that he’s not going to give this random little blond English dude his number because he’s Pete Wentz” – Ryan Potter

The Hunna have been VERY busy recently. They’ve released the first single from their new album ‘‘I’d Rather Die Than Let You Out’ in the form of ‘Cover You’ which features none other than blink-182’s Travis Barker.

They’ve also been working closely with Twenty One Pilots’ Josh Dun and Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz!

Well we just had as ask frontman Ryan Potter all about it when we had a video call with him earlier this week.

This is what he had to say about meeting Pete Wentz for the first time:

“John [Feldmann] was like ‘I’ve got some people just coming by just to hang out for good vibes in the studio’. So we were in the studio and it was about half way through the day and I was going over some lyric ideas and stuff. The door opened up and I thought it was Dan [Dorner, guitarist] or one of the guys so I was talking about the song and I looked up and it was Pete Wentz just standing there, looking at me smiling. I was like ‘Ok brilliant, I don’t really know what to say here. I guess nice to meet you?’

“It was weird. I grew up listening to him, I’ve seen Fall Out Boy so many times, I had his bass guitar. It was a real trip. Now he’s sitting there rapping with me like ‘Why don’t we try this? How about this?’ Then I got his number and we’re firing back ideas. I was like ‘Would you like me to send you what I have so far? How would you like me to send it to you?’ I was thinking that he’s not going to give this random little blond English dude his number because he’s Pete Wentz. But then he went straight up and did it. It was so cool.”
