The most exciting event in alpine ski racing, Downhill racers attempt to be the fastest one down the mountain through a minimum number of control gates. Speeds in Downhill often exceed 80 mph on major courses and require a hill with at least a 750 meter vertical drop.Gates open at 8am. Arrive early to get a great seat and enjoy the live pre-race show festivities.

From breakfast to après-race fun, the International Experience (InterX) Pavilion is your headquarters for the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships! Located in the center of Beaver Creek Village, this heated tent is open daily until 5pm. The InterX Pavilion has everything you need – breakfast, race coverage, free food & alcohol sampling, full bar service, music, prizes and more! The tent is free, open to the public and perfect for all ages.

Après Avon, a free 12-day concert and street fair will be held from 2pm to 5:30pm every day after the races, February 3 through 14, 2015 at Avon’s Main Street Mall. The festivities feature live music, craft brews, cocktails, food and performance art, along with visits by the 2015 official mascots and cheerleaders, ski racing athlete signings, including a visit by Olympic Gold Medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, distribution of the coveted AWSC pins and other American-rooted activities.

Public Bib Draw for the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships Men’s Slalom. The Men’s Slalom race will take place February 15 at Red Tail Stadium.
