Happy Birthday, Brett Eldredge! The CMA’s reigning New Artist of the Year turns 29 today (Monday), and to celebrate, we’ve compiled some of our favorite Brett facts.
Brett’s a sucker for a woman’s eyes.
“It doesn’t matter eye color,” Brett says. “On my first album, Bring You Back, I had several songs about blue eyes and girls were like, ‘What about green eyes?!’ ‘What about brown eyes?!’ It doesn’t matter the color. It’s just the way they pull you in. That’s the thing that really grabs me.”
Brett’s never been arrested, and he hopes to keep it that way.
“Hopefully that never happens,” he says. “I feel like I’m pretty well behaved. But I like to have a good time — but never arresting kind of things, hopefully.”
It shocks Brett to know that folks look up to him musically.
“There are so many people I wanted to be,” he says, “and it’s really crazy for me that I am now somebody that people are inspired by. That’s so weird to think about.”
Brett loves his mom, Robin. At the 2014 CMA Awards, he paused mid-questioning backstage to give her a shout out.
Excited over his first CMA win, Brett pointed out, “I found my mom! There’s my mom right there! I’ve been looking for her. Mom! There she is! OK. I waved at her.”
