What: The Third Annual HOWLaween Ball. Come “Eat, Drink and Be Scary” costume party for “21 & over” with cash bar, snacks, dancing, prizes for best costumes, photo opportunity booth and a huge Silent Auction. All proceeds will benefit 3 local animal non-profits: LAPS, Animal Rescue of the Rockies and Far View Horse Rescue and was made possible by the generosity of the Town of Silverthorne and many local businesses. Even though this event benefits animals, this is a “No Pet” event.

The Howlaween Ball is a fundraiser for four Summit County Non-Profit Animal Organizations. Each non-profit is a 501(c)(3) so your contribution is 100% tax deductible.
L.A.P.S. was founded in 1990 by the late Nancy Ring, Director of the Animal Shelter, to provide financial assistance to both the Shelter and local residents for the spay/neuter of their animals. Our mission is to reduce pet population and needless euthanasia of unwanted pets through funded programs that make spay/neuter surgery financially attainable by all. L.A.P.S. also has available funding for lower income families, who live or work in Summit County, to help with their pets’ unexpectedly high veterinary bills for long-term illness or accidents. Vouchers for spay/neuter for any income level resident are also offered through L.A.P.S. Annual fundraisers (Mardi Paws Barkus Parade, K94K and Pet Photos with Santa & Grinch) are a few of our events. www.summitlaps.com
Far View Horse Rescue is a Breckenridge/Fairplay non-profit organization, started in 2010 by a group of people who saw a need and have made dreams come true for many abused and abandoned horses since then. The main ranch is located on 40 beautiful acres near Fairplay and offers individual rehabilitation pens as well as cross fenced pastures with shelters and a stream. Some horses are located at the Breckenridge Equestrian Center in the summer months. The organization’s vision is finding each rescued horse, a successful partnership with new owners, through caring youth and adult volunteers plus horsemanship education. www.FarViewHorseRescue.com
Animal Rescue of the Rockies was founded in Summit County in 2003 to provide foster and adoptive homes for homeless dogs and cats as an alternative to shelter housing. ARR expanded its operations in 2009 to include the entire Front Range area. In 2012, over 550 dogs and 150 cats were successfully adopted into forever homes after being pulled from overcrowded shelters where most were in danger of being euthanized. All of ARR’s pets are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated before adoption. ARR recently signed a long-term lease on 160 acres of mountain property west of Fort Collins to establish a “halfway house” for pets pulled from shelters before they’re placed in foster homes. ARR also operates a Cat Casita adoption center in Fairplay, Colorado
that houses up to 15 orphaned cats in a cage-free playroom. ARR’s thrift shop is located at 203 N. Main St. in Breckenridge. www.animalrescueoftherockies.org
