Annual Vail Valley fashion Project Funway returns in February

VAIL – You can help raise money for local schools and look good doing it.

Project Funway returns to Vail’s Dobson Arena Feb. 9, this year with television’s “Project Runway” winner Mondo Guerra as one of the guest judges.

And for the creative adults among us, they still have a few spots open for adult dress designers. All the youth spaces are full.

Project Funway is the Education Foundation of Eagle County’s annual fundraiser in support of Eagle County schools.

The unconventional fashion event challenges amateur designers to create unique garments out of anything but fabric.

Youth 12 and Under, Youth 13-18, and Adult 18+, with runway shows for each category.

EFEC was launched more than a decade ago when Eagle County’s schools, like schools across the country, were financially strapped when the economy went in the tank. EFEC raises money and support for local schools.

EFEC focuses on in-school enrichment programs, mental health support and retaining top teachers.

Project Funway helps to fund Eagle County’s schools. In 2018, the Project Funway event raised $151,744, a 34 percent increase over 2017. Attendance was up by 22 percent over 2017, according to EFEC’s statistics.
