Firefighters extinguish mobile home blaze near Glenwood Springs

A mobile home fire in the Three Mile area was extinguished in less than 30 minutes by area firefighters Tuesday morning.

The Glenwood Springs Fire Department was dispatched around 9:30 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the mobile home at the scene, according to a news release. No one was inside the structure at the time of the fire.

“Firefighters initiated an offensive attack on the working fire,” the news release states. “The fire was reported extinguished within 20 minutes. Overhaul operations are currently in progress.”

Colorado River Fire Rescue and Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District assisted in battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated by the Garfield County Fire Investigation Team and the Glenwood Springs Fire Department.
