High Sltitude Society: Vail Valley Business Women embrace empowering your wholeness

On Jan. 9, the Vail Valley Business Women (VVBW) gathered together at Hovey & Harrison Cafe, Bakery and Market to network, socialize and learn about one woman’s journey of wellness, healing and wholeness. It was an appropriately emotional and educational evening full of compassion and support. Besides the camaraderie, there was learning, great food and refreshments. The evening’s fare was delectable, healthy and delicious. Prepared by Chef Brandon Utley and the crew at Hovey & Harrison, attendees were delighted with the wholesome dishes.

Julie Kiddoo lives west of Vail with her husband, Tom, their children, and their Golden Retriever, Nala. Julie owns Revolution Power Yoga, a Baptiste Affiliate yoga studio located in Avon, Colorado. She has completed over 1,000 hours of training with Baptiste Yoga, a LifeForce Yoga Level 1 practitioner and is a teacher and a leader of yoga, influencing hundreds of lives on and off the mat. Julie loves being on her yoga mat, spending time in nature, writing, skiing, enjoying road trips with her family and having fun with family and friends.

Julie recently published “Bye-Polar,” sharing her struggles with depression and the healing that she has found along the way. Through a tremendous amount of courage and support she has found her path to wellness. Yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, community and a willingness to learn and grow in order to rebuild anew have helped her to thrive.

On this evening, Kiddoo was open to sharing.

“I will share about my story tonight and share some tools, and we will do some intention setting,” Kiddoo said. “If you have ever struggled with depression or anxiety or if you know someone who has, I just hope that you can walk away from tonight with one tool that can make a difference in your life or someone else’s.”

Her self-care checklist included meditation, yoga, time in nature, exercise, connecting with friends, healthy eating, good sleep and more.
