Bill Kight, executive director of the Glenwood Springs Historical Society, Frontier Museum and Doc Holliday Collection, was recently awarded the Colorado Tourism Office Rockies Playground Award for top Colorado frontline tourism worker.
CTO awarded one tourism worker from each of the eight new Colorado travel regions.
The eight regions are Pioneering Plains, Canyons & Plains, Pikes Peak Wonders, Mystic San Luis Valley, Mountains & Mesas, Rockies Playground, The Great West and Denver & Cities of the Rockies.
According to a press release, awards were based on nominees who do an outstanding job of welcoming and working with Colorado visitors and providing them with the best experience possible.
Kight will also be recognized through CTO social media channels, Colorado.com, industry-facing newsletters and through a Channel 4 broadcast news series that will air during National Travel and Tourism Week, which is this week.
