The Glenwood Springs High School girls swim and dive team won its home triangle meet Wednesday over the Aspen and Summit high school teams.
Highlights from the meet included:
• Amy Madsen earned two first places and two state 3A qualifying times in the 500 freestyle (9 minutes, 18 seconds) and 100 back (0.29 seconds).
• Abby Scruton took first place in the 1-meter dive with a state-qualifying score.
• Juliet McGill, second place and state qualifying score in the 1-meter dive
• Kylee Smith, first place and state-qualifying time for the 200 individual medley; second place and state-qualifying time 100 fly.
• Ellie McPherson, third place and state-qualifying time in 200 freestyle; second place and state-qualifying time 100 breaststroke.

Meeker 56, Rifle 39
The Rifle High School girls basketball team dropped a non-league game on the road at Meeker Wednesday, 56-39.
Meeker opened a 27-17 lead after the first quarter of play, followed by a scoreless second quarter. Rifle was outscored 29-22 in the second half for the final score.
