I am thoroughly disappointed with this year’s options for voting on “Local’s Choice.” I know of at least five nominees that are not listed on the ballot. Collecting the nominees can be a tasking endeavor, but not including all nominees makes it a bit of a farce. If it were printed, I’d understand only including the top six that collected multiple nominations. However, it’s an online nomination and ballot process. When you ask the public for their input, it’s expected that said input is considered. I’d suggest not limiting the nominees and putting a limit on the number of times a person can vote. This will help prevent the ballot/nominee stuffing that seems to occur year after year. I’m very thankful that your staff takes the time and makes the effort to present these awards every year, but please consider these changes going forward.
