The recently released United Nations report on biodiversity states that due to climate change, and other human-caused problems, a million species face extinction. While it can seem overwhelming, you have a chance to act meaningfully on climate right now.
This week, many of you will get a ballot in the mail from Holy Cross Energy, our local utility whose decisions on power supply affect the carbon footprint for the entire region. Fortunately, Holy Cross is making incredible progress, headed toward 70% clean power by 2030. But we have to keep that progress going. While there are a number of excellent candidates running for the board this cycle, I’m asking you to vote for Larissa Read, who has deep experience in climate policy and action in this valley and would complement the already strong board’s experience.
