It has come to my attention that Colorado’s gun laws are not as strict as they could be. Although we are not directly affected by gun violence and mass shootings in Glenwood Springs, throughout Colorado there are many places that are directly affected by gun violence.
Personally I feel that stricter gun laws would be extremely beneficial to minimizing the amount of gun violence that occurs in our state. I feel that we should be creating safe environments such as schools and other public places, where kids and adults don’t have to be in fear of potentially losing their lives from unwanted gun violence. Regardless of this topic being extremely controversial, I strongly believe that we should be taking action to lessen the amount of shootings and gun violence in our own state.
