Letter: Virgili and Hartzell would bring a wealth of experience CMC board

As a member of the Colorado Mountain College board of trustees from west Garfield County, I want to encourage you to vote in the upcoming election. Specifically, I am encouraging your support for two candidates seeking board seats in contested races. Colorado Mountain College celebrated its 50th anniversary not long ago and has launched its next 50 years. The board understands full well the importance of the college’s services and programs in our mountain communities.

Please consider casting your vote for Marianne Virgili, the former president of the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce. Marianne is a passionate supporter of, and advocate for, not just the college but our region. She understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities before us.

Additionally, I want to encourage you to vote for Bob Hartzell who is seeking the Lake County/Leadville seat on the board. Bob is a retired educator, a past member of the Leadville City Council, and is knowledgeable about all of our mountain communities. These two longtime residents of the region would bring a wealth of experience to our board. The two individuals currently holding these seats, Kathy Goudy of Carbondale, and Pat Chlouber of Leadville, are term-limited. Thank you for your consideration.
