Myrta Taylor, 98, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and formerly of Columbus, Nebraska, passed away on April 27, 2019. Born on June 17, 1920, in Schoftland, Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lina Gloor.
Myrta immigrated from Switzerland with her parents in 1924. They lived in Redfield, South Dakota, before moving to Columbus in 1927, where she worked with her parents at the Gloor Bakery. She met and married Robert Taylor and assisted him with his business, Jack & Jill Supermarkets. In 1968 she and family moved to Aspen, Colorado, where they were owners and operators of the Innsbruck Sportsmotel. They eventually settled in Glenwood Springs in 1985.
Myrta was preceded in death by her husband Robert, brother Reinhart Gloor and sister Alvena Weber.
She leaves behind her daughter Roberta; son Ronald and wife Mary; sons Rhett, Ricky and Roland; sister Fani Trofholz; grandson Michael and wife Michele; great-grandson Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
