After an embarrassing first two quarters saw the Grizzlies build a 19-point lead while dismantling the Nuggets’ offense, Denver’s fiery coach gave his starters five minutes to prove they still wanted — and deserved — to be out on the court.
Nikola Jokic wouldn’t even say what choice words Malone had shared with them at the break before they wrested the 95-92 win away from the Grizzlies and forced the biggest blown lead in Memphis’ regular season history.
