Garfield County emergency officials report that the state Highway 13 Colorado River Bridge is currently closed due to an unspecified incident in the area.
A Garfield emergency alert was sent just before 8 p.m. noting the closure near the main Interstate 70 exit at Rifle. Traffic is being routed to the West Rifle exit at this time.
It is unknown when the bridge will be reopened.
Several people on the Rifle Connected Facebook page were reporting police activity on the bridge.
