Motorists traveling south of Carbondale on Colorado 133 should expect continued delays today, as crews continue work to clean up after a large rock slide.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, crews were successful in downsizing several of the large boulders on 133 between Carbondale and Redstone after Saturday’s rockslide. Operations will continue on Sunday to clear the debris and assess the risk of further rock fall.
The rocks came down in the southbound lanes Saturday afternoon about eight miles south of the Colorado 82/133 intersection. The northbound lane is open, and traffic is alternating with use of portable stoplights.
