On Saturday, March 9, superheroes will be skiing and raising money to help children with serious illnesses who have superpowers like courage, strength and hope. Every dollar raised will benefit Roundup River Ranch, an organization that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families by providing free camp experiences.
Located in Gypsum, Roundup River Ranch offers children with serious illnesses and their families the chance to enjoy the most extraordinarily ordinary joys of childhood. At camp, children are not defined by their illness and they can take a true vacation from being “a patient” and get back to the fun of being a child. And, perhaps best of all, camp is always free of charge thanks to the support received from a generous community of donors and volunteers. The money raised at Superhero Ski Day will help ensure that more than 1,600 individuals experience the healing power of camp during the 2019 camp season — at no cost.
Individuals can register online for $25 at SuperheroSkiDay.com. Superhero Ski Day is a family-friendly event that includes access to Superhero Headquarters at Manor Vail Lodge, special kid-friendly activities happening all day, and an apres party with food, drinks and live music. Children 5 and younger can attend the Superhero Headquarters activities for free. Awards will be given to the top fundraising team and best costumes for children and adults. Participants are encouraged to create a team with their friends and family and fundraise to win a variety of exciting prizes.
Superhero Ski Day begins at 9 a.m. with registration at Manor Vail Lodge followed by camp activities, on-mountain activities and more.
Roundup River Ranch partners with Access Unbound to provide adaptive skiing experiences to children living with serious illnesses. Access Unbound is an organization that connects people with disabilities to world-class recreation and learning. Its mission is to empower independence.
